Ecologistas demandan mejoras en el transporte ferroviario de cercanías en sustitución del AVE entre Ourense y Vigo.
Un grupo de colectivos sociales y ecologistas demandan mejoras en el trazado ferroviario de cercanías y media distancia en las provincias de Pontevedra y Ourense en sustitución del proyecto de instalación de la línea del Tren de Alta Velocidad entre Ourense y Vigo, argumentando que este último 'destruye más de lo que crea'.
La secretaria de la Asociación pola Defensa da Ría (APDR) de Pontevedra, María Peón, considera que 'no hay necesidad de llegar a velocidades de 300 kilómetros por hora en el territorio gallego, puesto que se puede llegar a velocidades inferiores con calidad para el servicio y beneficiando a más gente'.
Junto con la APDR, también secundaron esta propuesta los representantes de Adega, las asociación Verbo Xido de la comarca de Terra de Montes, los colectivos Chamoso Lamas y Matar por Matar Non, de O Carballiño, el Grupo de Axitación Social, el centro social A Revolta y la asociación cultural Kaleidoskopio, los tres de Vigo, el Colectivo Nacionalista de Marín, el colectivo Vaipolorío, de Pontevedra y la asociación Canón de Pau, de Cotobade.
Estas entidades presentaron en la Subdelegación del Gobierno en Pontevedra un escrito de alegación, dirigido al subdirector general de Planes y Proyectos de Infraestructuras Ferroviarias del Ministerio de Fomento, al estudio informativo del trazado del Tren de Alta Velocidad entre Ourense y Vigo. En una segunda fase, dentro de unos seis meses, según sus cálculos, los ecologistas volverán a alegar contra el proyecto definitivo y el estudio de impacto ambiental de este tramo del AVE.
María Peón indicó que cualquiera de las alternativas que se estudian para el paso del AVE por Cerdedo y Terra de Montes 'tendrá un grave impacto sobre el valle del río Lérez y la comarca de Pontevedra'.
Tras los incendios forestales que afectaron a la zona el pasado año, la secretaria de la APDR denunció que la comarca 'sigue sufriendo graves impactos ambientales', como la instalación 'indiscriminada' de energías renovables.
